What is Large language model (LLM)?
A large language model (LLM) is an AI trained on huge amounts of text to predict and generate language. It powers assistants like Claude and ChatGPT, letting them write, summarize, answer, analyze, and code from a plain-language prompt. It does not look things up; it generates responses from patterns it learned.
LLMs are general purpose: the same model can draft an email, explain a concept, or write code. Their strengths (fluent language, reasoning over text) and their limits (they can be confidently wrong) both come from how they are trained.
